Guest House “Sweet Rest”

From the Host

I prepare the breakfast myself. Sometimes it’s just a traditional Korean meal with rice, soup, and some side dishes, and sometimes it varies from curry rice, rice soup, and porridge to a club sandwich and cereal. The menu depends on the ingredients I have that morning. Since my child eats the same food, I try to use everything organic and veggies that I grew myself in the garden. If you are looking for a place like a hotel at a cheap price, come to Dalhew.

Enjoy an incredible night on a huge Hollywood bed at an amazing price!

'Wow, so that’s a Hollywood bed’
Your eyes will naturally grow wider when you see the huge Hollywood bed (the size of two single beds). The guest house is located in a fairly secluded area of Onpyeong-ri, but Dalhew blends well with the more modernized town. From the outside, to the rooms and the breakfast cooked by the host, Dalhew seems to be no different from any other B&B boutique hotel, however the single room is only 27 USD. The height of the bed also allows you to put your luggage underneath so you have more room. The rooms are perfect for young families as well.
Dalhew’s host family are a married couple in their 30s, with their child who just started at elementary school. They have always wanted to live in the countryside, even before they got married.

“We’d never stayed at a guest house before, until we came to Jeju for a week. We went to various ones, including some that give you a good breakfast, one that’s quiet, and the ones that you would choose to stay based only on the price. We realized that every guest house has their own characteristics. I think if you are traveling all the way to Jeju, you might as well stay at a place that’s comfy and has a cheap price at the same time, right? This is why our guest house name is Dalhew, which is a shortened word for ‘sweet rest’ in Korean”.

There are many immigrants in Woljeongri and Sehwari, but recently there have been more immigrants settling near Seongsan. As a result, the hosts say there are a lot of new unique restaurants that use Jeju’s local ingredients to make some delicious meals.

The Jeju intercity terminal and Seogwipo intercity terminal that go around Jeju from the east side, as well as the circular bus going in to Hallasan Mountain, are only a 3 minute walk from the guest house, so if you stay at Dalhew, you won’t face the problems of transportation, regardless of where you are trying to go.
