From the Host

We settled in Jongdal-ri because we loved to ride bicycles. The longer we live here though, the more we are realizing how pretty of a town of Jongdal-ri is. Unlike other towns in Jeju, the houses are built close around each other so it’s very cute. Hado Beach, a beach the people here often go, is also close to Tour de Jeju, so if you come here, you will really be able to see the true Jeju instead of just a portrayed ‘travel’ side of Jeju.

Where the honeymooner’s dream came true…

travel around the island by bicycle!

‘Tour de Jeju’
You just know what kind of a guest house this is just by its name.
If you are a cycling enthusiast, you know the world’s most famous Tour de France, a cycle competition that takes place over 3 weeks in July. Tour de Jeju gets a lot of cyclists as their guests.

Just like the name describes, the young married couple of Tour de Jeju also love cycling.
The hosts, who are in their 30s, used to work in the IT industry, but they dropped everything to build a house on Jeju in 2013. They visited many areas when deciding where to build their home, but they couldn’t find anywhere better than Jongdal-ri.

“Jongdal-ri’s coastal road provides the best course for cycling. Hydrangeas bloom everywhere, especially during June, and many people visit for this spectacle.

This was one of the reasons we began looking at the east coast first. Not only that, you don’t have to go via the Seongsanpo port, instead use Udo port, a 10-minute walk from here.

If you walk a little bit farther, you will get to Jeju Olle 1 course and 21 course.”
It seems that this young couple have put a lot of thought into where they built their guest house, as the area satisfies both the cycling enthusiasts and olle walkers.

But this is not all Tour de Jeju provides.
Over 7 months, the hosts built the house themselves. They dug the ground and slowly made their dreams of building their home in Jeju come true.

The sketch they had imagined since they were dating came true, and that sketch was Tour de Jeju.
Part of the second floor in Tour de Jeju is where the couple actually live, so you know the guest house is comfortable and cozy without even having to go there!

You can also rent out bikes when you are at Tour de Jeju, so if you happen to visit Jeju in June,

try riding along the hydrangea road.
