Jimibong Oreum (지미봉오름)_Panoramic View of Seongsan Ilchulbong

Embracing the Sun over Seongsan Ilchulbong

If you walk along the basalt stonewall, you may experience the distinctive flavor of a Jeju village. Jongdalri village, where Jimibong Oreum is situated, is a very cute town as different farmhouses are located closely to each other, unlike in the other towns of Jeju. You can get a whole grasp on the town just by taking a gentle walk.

Jimibong oreum, a volcanic cone, has a horseshoe shape with false summits and is quite steep to climb so it requires a bit of sweat and energy. However, once you see the unobstructed view of Udo Island, Seongsanilchulbong and charming Jongdal-ri Village at the top, you won’t regret it. On the Hallasan Mountain side, you will see a panorama of Darangshi Oreum, often called the queen of oreum and other famous east oreums. This is a place where a lot of photographers also visit for an amazing photoshoot.

What’s more, the coastal road from Jongdal-ri village to Hado-ri village changes to a hydrangea road between June and July. It is already famously known among fans of cycling. Make sure you make a trip on a sunny clear day!  More details on Jeju Oreums.

Tip: Jimibong Oreum is a part of Jeju Olle Course 21. If you cannot easily find the oreum hiking trail, look for the Olle Trail Sign nearby.
