Where to Stay

Gotta get a comfy night's sleep before you take on that hike tomorrow!

Gdygla Guest House

Room Views
From the Host

I love to travel, so I want all of our guests to visit all the nice places, too. Foreign guests usually come without any special plans, but since they came from far away, my hope is that they just rest well and enjoy the beautiful places on Jeju Island. There are many places that are not even well known to Koreans here, such as Musucheon Trail where you can enjoy a nice walk and the historical sites of the Anti-Yuan Movement.

Play haven for children and a vegetarian café

‘Gdygla Guest House’
What does Gdygla mean? Where did it come from?
According to the host, Gdygla is a pure Jeju word meaning ‘let’s go over there’.
Just like the name of the guest house, the host is also a pure Jeju native, born and bred on the Island.
Going into the alley, the first impression you get of the guest house is that of a kindergarten. The painting on the windows on the second floor and the small playground and slides on the front porch are so adorable and send out a warm vibe.

It is no surprise, then, that the guesthouse was initially run by the host’s brother as a kindergarten, but was remodeled for its new purpose when the host returned to Korea after working in Japan. Guests with little kids especially fall in love with this guest house, as they can relax on the first floor while their children play or read in their own play space.

There is a café available to guests on the first floor, where they can also enjoy the unique menu the guest house offers: wellbeing menus with local, organically grown veggies. Even if you are not a vegetarian, you will fall in love with the fresh, healthy taste.
Gdygla’s host is a single lady who just turned 30. Both she and her family have lived in Gwangnyeongri, where the guest house is located, since her birth. After finishing College, she worked in Japan as a computer programmer, returning to the Island 2 years ago. Along with her Mongolian sister in-law, Gdygla staff represent 5 different languages. The host can speak Japanese, Chinese, and English while her sister in-law speaks both Mongolian and Russian. As the guest house is located close to the airport but also in a quiet area where Jeju Olle 16 course ends and 17course starts, you could enrich your Jeju experience at Geudigeulla if you will be arriving late to the Island, or want to look around more on your last day of travel.
