Where to Stay

Gotta get a comfy night's sleep before you take on that hike tomorrow!

Gongsaba Guest House

Room Views
From the Host

When you open the door to your room, you will be greeted by calm music and a pleasant fragrance. It’s the same music we heard when we first came to Jeju Isalnd. Guests may also be surprised when they open the fridge. Everything in the mini bar fridge is free! But there’s one thing we don’t have in Gongsaba – a TV. We hope that our guests talk more while they are in Jeju.

Gongsaba, where new lives begin and time passes slowly

“I wrote it as ‘dream’ but read as ‘fantasy’ when I saw Jeju Island. In the fantasy, I saw myself dropping a lot of things and becoming much lighter. I found the new ‘me’ and saw myself being thankful and selfless. I saw the new Jeju and I became someone completely different before I knew it.”

Gongsaba is the sweet home of the host, her husband and lovely children Jeyoni and Bangdi. Gongsaba is a Korean acronym for ‘a place that changes a person(공간이 사람을 바꾼다)’.

The host first came to Jeju Island when her daughter was just 100 days old. The couple used to travel a lot before getting married, but once they had a baby, Jeju traveling naturally became a ‘slow travel’ plan. They settled in Jeju Island in their mid-thirties after taking their time exploring Jeju.

The host hopes that Gongsaba becomes a place where guests can also slowly pass the time, while taking in the sites of Jeju at their own pace. With her husband as a construction designer, she said building a house went a lot smoother and with only 2 guest rooms, the relaxed feel of Gongsaba can be enjoyed by guests looking for quiet, cozy accommodation. The guest House is perfect for a family who don’t want to feel rushed. They did not use wall paper but rather used a natural German paint, Auro, to keep things as natural as possible for their 6 and 4 year olds.
The B&B must be a special place, too, with a couple having a June wedding in their garden, newlyweds were their first guests.

Host's Favorite Attraction: Flat Heart Beach with Delicate Emerald Shine

Pyeongdaeri Beach is in the shape of a heart. The color is a beautiful emerald and it is not so deep, so guests can enjoy sometime in the water. If you take a picture with the Jeju town in the background, you will be surprised how beautiful it is, even more than the field of rape flowers.
