Where to Stay

Gotta get a comfy night's sleep before you take on that hike tomorrow!

Baengdigareum B&B

Room Views
From the Host

“I hope they feel a sense of comfort here.” I left Jeju once I became an adult, as I spent my youth here and I didn’t like the secluded feeling of living on an island. But I came back again after 20 years. I came back after much wandering, so I hope the guests also feel healed and comforted here.

Taste Jeju! Enjoy Grilled Sea Bream and free breakfast on just 22USD!

Your female host roasts coffee in the same workshop her father used for over 30 years.
The workshop is now part of Baengdi Dabang (the name of the communal area, ‘Dabang’ means Korean traditional coffee shop). Since it’s not a professional café, Baengdi Dabang doesn’t sell to non-guests, but the coffee brewed by the host, who is a certified barista, has a delicious and deep scent made with a warm heart.
This sense of warmth is also found more literally in the guestrooms at the guest house.
The host lives on the first floor of the 30 year old house that her parents used to live in, and the second and third floors have rooms for guests visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong.

Even with the advice of not spending too much on a guest house, since it should be a cheap place to stay, the host installed special floors so that the rooms stay warm even during the harsh winter. Although the floor needs to be heated for 3 hours before you can feel the warmth, the host keeps her strong philosophy that guests should sleep with the utmost comfort, even if just for a night.

Not only does the hand drip coffee provided as a welcome drink taste amazing, but the breakfast included for the low cost of 25,000 won (22USD) per person, also provides many special dishes you can’t find anywhere else.

Depending on the guests’ taste, some days, grilled sea bream is provided and other days, Jeju black pork is served. You can even try the organic mussel soup that has the comforting taste of a home cooked meal, so you don’t need to look for fancy restaurants during your stay at Baengdigareum Guest house. Even if you are not used to Korean dishes, the seasonal dishes, such as flower salad in spring and the Kamajeung salad, will bring your taste buds to life.

After an early breakfast, guests traveling to Udo can enjoy a free drop off service by the host to Seongsan Port. Baengdigareum is the perfect place for you if you are traveling to Udo Island through Seongsan Ilchulbong and Seopjikoji Beach.
There are patios on the second floor with 4 and 6 person dormitories and on the third floor, there are 4 person family rooms. Enjoy the sunset from your room with a cup of tea, perhaps.
