The 11th Saryeoni Forest Eco-healing Festival (May. 25 to Jun. 2)

List

If you are a hiking lover, you can have a rare opportunity to visit one of Jeju's most unique yet inaccessible oreums in May!
“The Mulchat Oreum” path, which is typically closed to the public to protect the land and allow vegetation to grow, will be open for a 9-day period as part of the 11th Saryeoni Forest Eco-Healing Festival (사려니숲길에코힐링).

The festival has been organized by Saryeoni Forest Committee and Jeju Special Self Governing Province and takes place on eight sections of the path. Starting points are two; Saryeoni Oreum (사려니) and Bulgeun Oreum (붉은오름).

Activities are also included such as learning handicrafts, trying traditional wedding costumes, a photo contest and tying ribbons of hope.

Mulchat Oreum (물찻오름) path has been closed in 2008 due to damage from erosion by overcrowded visitors. The oreum, which rises to 717.2 meters above sea level, has a crater lake which is rare due to being permanently full.

Saryeoni Forest is one of long-beloved forests by locals as well as by tourists due to its fresh air and easy walking path.
